Sophia was found wandering with a pack of dogs. It took us quite a while to catch her. When we finally did we were shocked to find she was skin & bones and had no teeth. She was so sweet from day one. After alot of TLC she was healthy enough to be posted but she didn't have much interest at all. Meanwhile she became our puppy babysitter and senior companion.
Then it happened, she had an application submitted for a foster to adopt situation! We were so happy for her. They wanted to give her a test run with their other dog. Her and the dog were fine but Sophia stopped eating, she stopped playing and completely withdrew. We let them give her some time and nothing changed so we went and picked her up obviously!
When she got back she ate immediately and then started playing with her buddies. She's clearly happy here and her happiness is all that matters. Therefore she will be staying here with the official job titles "Puppysitter" and "Senior Canine Companion ".
Brooks actually found RAVE right after our move. He showed up at our kennels trying to break in to get to the dogs food. He was emaciated and terrified of everything. I picked ticks off of him for days. It took weeks to earn his trust and have the ability to touch him without him cowering.
He's friendly enough with people when we are with him as long as they aren't inside his kennel. Otherwise he's just to nervous when meeting new people. He is currently enjoying his life of leisure and soaking up the South Carolina sunshine.
Brooks enjoys snacks, comfortable beds and squeak toys.
