Fostering a rescue dog is essentially dogsitting in your home. All supplies/food are supplied by RAVE for the animal you are fostering. 

We do require fosters to sign up to foster for a minimum of 90days to allow the animal to decompress so we know more about their true personality.

Ideally fosters should be within driving distance of pir vet Lake Marion Animal Hospital in Summerton SC. It makes having them vetted easier.

If the animal is fully vetted we do allow fosters from out of town or out of state. However we do require these fosters to agree to a minimum of 6 months due to transportation costs.

If you fall in love you'll have first dibs on adopting said animal! Fostering to adoption is a great way to "test drive" a pet to see if it's a good fit for your home! If you're interested in fostering a dog/cat(s) or would like more info, please fill out an application!

If you’d like to treat an adult dog to a mini-getaway, then our Stray Staycation program is great for you! Stray Staycations give our adult dogs a much-needed break from their kennels and help us learn more about their personalities.

RAVE provides all necessary supplies and veterinary care. You supply the space, time, and – of course – the love!

While hosting a Staycation, you can help the animal find a home by promoting them online and telling your friends and family all about them!

All of our dogs have their normal wellness visits. They also receive vaccinations, treatment for parasites (de-wormer), and prevention for flea, ticks & heartworm. Thats in addition to being spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to their adoption day. We cant foget those who come in injured that require additional medical attention.

This sort of care comes with a very large financial weight. RAVE Rural Animal Volunteer Effort recoups only a portion of these expenses on adoption day. That doesn't even include any of the day to day care they receive, we never recoup any of these expenses. But this is where you can help!
